Pangasius Hypophthalmus (today after sorting a Pangasianodon hypophthalmus) is a freshwater fish of the catfish family (Pangasiidae), common in the Mekong River system including Vietnam.
Since the 2000s the pangasius fillet of hypophthalmus has achieved a great success in the world market not only because of their competitive prices, but also because of its white flesh fillet is boneless and directions are mild with many nutrients as Omega3, DHA and low in fat, suitable for diverse needs of all classes of people throughout the world.

Ha Noi - January 22, 2010, The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in cooperation with the Fishery Society of Vietnam to announce the vote result of businesses and individuals that have won the prize of the first Golden Quality of Seafood of Vietnam.

350 billion VND for the development of breeding pangasius

This plan will be carried out in three years from 2010 to 2012, in order to supply about 5 billion breeding animals which have achieved the national standard, satisfying for the trade of feeding pangasius at the Mekong River Delta.
