Brazil’s DIPOA inspection visit to Viet Nam

On December 09, 2009, the inspection team of Brazil’s Department of Inspection of Products Originated from Animals (DIPOA) reported to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) a preliminary report of its 10-days working visit in Viet Nam.

The report stated that Viet Nam’s seafood companies have effectively implemented HACCP plan and production management standards as well as parasite control and safety insurance in processing factories, however, there still exist some little disagreements with Brazil’s regulations.

The inspection team acknowledged NAFIQAD as DIPOA’s capable counterpart in Viet Nam, which is responsible for listing the exporters that qualified for shipping seafood to Brazil.

They also reported on Brazil’s regulations and requirements on processed seafood imported into this market.

The final report will be sent to NAFIQAD not later than January 20, 2010.
